Last Opera of Season

Last Friday evening Leah, Theresa J. and I had an excellent meal at Wildfire. We then went back and played bid whist with other people that live at the Parkshore co-op. My first two hands were great and I impressed everyone with my skills! Easy to do when you get good cards. Saturday, of course, was massage morning - this time I had a deep massage and it felt like I had a new back. Saturday evening we attended "Cosi fan Tutte" at the Lyric Opera and it was a beautiful production - the reviewer in the Chicago Tribune agreed. Thanks to Leah for driving in the freezing weather - scraping ice off the window is no fun. (I was secretly glad Leah only had one ice scraper.)

Week in Austin

It was great to be in Austin last week and admire my really cute, interesting grandchildren. Jonathan and Kayleigh are a treat to be with and have such different personalities. I "supervised" Kayleigh painting for about and hour and a half; she is very intent on her artwork. Whenever she gets a chance, she climbs on Jonathan's drum stool and puts on his ear protectors - they are almost as big as her head and she looks really cute. Jonathan and I had some great cuddles and conversation in bed in the mornings and played several games of "Dragonology". I got to babysit Magda and Kayleigh one morning - they're funny little girls; Magda sings a rousing version of "Jingle Bells" accompanied by a dance and Kayleigh belts out a rendition of "Rock a Bye Baby" garanteed not to put a baby to sleep. Also enjoyed the opportunity to see Matthew S. on Wednesday and the Rihas Friday evening. (No more happy hours for me, though!) And, of course, it was wonderful to spend time with Elizabeth and Dale and discuss our various artistic endeavors among many other topics. Thanks!
