First Winter Snow & Die Fledermaus

It started snowing on Saturday about 3:00 PM as I was driving home from the airport and by morning we had about three inches on the ground - it was a beautiful, pristine landscape this morning.

Die Fledermaus was a delightful production at the Chicago Lyric Opera - a nice, light change from the more heavy duty ouvres. I also really enjoyed watching the HBO special "Elizabeth I" with Helen Mirren that Leah had on tape. It has received excellent reviews, but I had never had an opportunity to see it. The scenery, costumes and acting were outstanding - some of the script was what was actually said at the time e.g. Elizabeth's speech at Tilbury that she gave to the troops before the attack by the Spanish Armada.

I also enjoyed a lovely massage - this could become a habit - and good eats and drinks.

Leah:

Thank you for the link.....I could hear Helen as I read it. As you, I had a great time and happily anticipate more of the same in February.
