Rigoletto

Once in a while you get to experience the thrill of the "perfect wave" of an opera - Rigoletto was it on Friday evening. All of the voices were beautiful and worked well together - the famous quartet was well balanced and musically spectacular. It was a beautiful production including hedonistic courtesans showing lots of leg and a un-Verdian reference to an incestual relationship between Sparafucile and Maddalena. Leah and I had an excellent meal at Shaw's before the opera. It was a delightful evening after a long work week.

Leah:

It was wonderful! This PM, I ordered tickets for Theresa and me to see Orfeo ed Euridice on the 26th of March - I think that our matinee performance is the last one. We were lucky to get the last two seats available in the second balcony - I think one of them is the one that I occupied when Patrick joined us for The Magic Flute.
