I'm pretty sure they've put up a Xmas tree in the Munich Viktualien Markt.

Hmmm, Mom sounds a little testy. I thought we were all quite polite! You know the itch to edit is a curse of mine and not something I'm proud of--if it's any consolation, I think all the typos I noticed were all things that would *not* have been caught by a spellchecker. And they certainly did not detract from the pleasure I took in reading the piece. Thank you for taking the time to write it up and post it, both of you.
I had not realized why you two had differentiated the links. The only connection I'd made was that links to pages for places had only one letter hyperlinked, and links to pictures were done the normal way. If you'd just said at the beginning, I would have understood! Although as Daddy mentioned, it is nice to have more than one letter for the mouse to find the link.
In spite of your critical readers, I really think this kind of thing will turn out to have been fun to do when you look back at it in later years. Maybe one day (when I have more time, ha ha) I'll be able to do it up with the pictures/links incorporated into a nice printed journal.

I think I'm finally zeroing in on the arrangement that will make everybody happy. Namely, I've redone all of the internet links so that they consist of more than just the 1st letter of the word or phrase. This makes them an easier target for the mouse, while at the same time allowing the casual user to distinguish between the two kinds of links in the report.
One internet link that I recommend for everybody is the one for the Viktualien Markt in Munich. It's a webcam of the market. Be sure to visit the link during the daytime or in the early evening, Munich time. Note that Munich time is seven hours later than Central time.

Listen folks, we're not trying for a Pulitzer prize here - just think of it as "stream of consciousness" writing. Definitely the pics that Pat took are the most interesting but if you're interested in reading more we included the internet links. That's why we differentiated the internet links from the pics so you could choose what you wanted to see. Thanks for taking the time to read our little report.

I read the entire report first, then from the beginning clicked on all of the links. I found the pictures you uploaded way better than the single letter links to various cities and more interesting to boot. The last paragraph of your vacation report seemed to end abruptly. Does it mean there is more to add, or did you mean to end it that way. I thought it was pretty neat that you were able to meet some cousins. I'm surprised they weren't any help in locating the origions of Jacob Karl, or were they a help and you just haven't had time to post anymore on that subject?

I liked the report, although I did have a slight itch to print it out and mark it up with a red pen. (I resisted, however.) Who wrote it--both you & Mom, or just one of you? And why flout the HTML conventions by making the hyperlink be just the first letter of place names?
The pictures were great and interwoven nicely with the story line. I particularly liked the ones of you two in the first-class train compartment!
