Jennifer's Shower

Elizabeth, Jessica and Kathleen hosted a shower for Jennifer a week ago and I was very pleased that I got to attend. The table was lovely; the "edibles" were quite tasty and the Sangria added a festive touch. Jenny received many nice items for the baby - I don't think there were any repeat gifts. I promptly lost the first shower challenge - we were all given a tiny clothespin to wear and had to forfeit our clothespin if we crossed our legs or ankles, said the word baby or the word September. I immediately crossed my legs, but then at least the stress was off! The crossword puzzle with appropriate baby related clues and answers was fun to do. Thanks to Eliz we didn't have to play any silly shower games. It was a fun afternoon which stretched into the wee hours for some us. Stepan was gracious enough to go by Rudy's and bring us all supper and then alternating people played Euchre until 2:30 am.

Of course, the shower was not the only highlight of being in Austin - I also got to play multiple games with Jonathan, see his kindergarten classroom, (I couldn't believe kindergartners had to have a backpack and they go to school all day!) and play with Kayleigh - what a delightful baby with a smile that covers her whole face.

It was a great extended weekend.

Rita:

The work shower was a lot of fun too. Although I did not get to see Jonathan, I did spend quite a bit of time chatting with Kayleigh. She has become a regular little chatter box and her facial expressions while chatting are precious.
