For the first time this year it's in the "teens" - 16 degrees when I got up this morning. Yesterday, it was about 33 degrees and I built a fire in the stove in the old house and had coffee out there. Very pleasant and peaceful, but I wouldn't want to have to do it all the time, especially when it is colder than the 30's.
John, from south Texas, has been visiting Pat and he forgot to bring a jacket or sweater with him. He bought a cheap ($8) blanket in Leavenworth and using grommets and bolts "fashioned" a poncho to wear. Pat says that he makes John walk 20 feet behind him in the grocery store or Home Depot, but then John yells to him. I refused to let him wear his "poncho" to the restaurant the other evening.
I cut all of the dill - a bunch - before the freeze and need to make some dill bread today. Also, got 3 more forsythia bushes planted - hopefully they will make it.

Ooo, cold. One day I want to see the refurbished old house. The last time we were there (for your birthday), the house was unihabitable except for the bird nesting in the rafters. It now sounds so cozy and peaceful.

I have a great image in my head of John yelling at Daddy in the stores, and Daddy's face getting redder and redder! What else are old friends for . . .
I got out the Joy of Cooking the other day, contemplating making the effort to make dill bread like yours, but I got discouraged since I don't have a Kitchen-Aid like you do and put the cookbook back on the shelf. :-(
