Sore leg muscles today - those hills are killers! While there wasn't much sightseeing time we made it to a San Francisco landmark for a drink after dinner. Since Pat and I had been to SF more than once before, I wasn't disappointed that I didn't get to do more. The view of SF from the room where we had the meeting at the Fairmont was spectacular.
When we were finished on Saturday, a friend/colleague and I walked from the hotel to a boutique shop area in Pacific Heights. We looked at a bunch of shops and I bought a couple of small Christmas presents.
That evening we went to a great Chinese restaurant. Two of us almost didn't get there - we were slowly following the other two down the hill and lost sight of them (there are lots a people in Chinatown at night). Neither of us had paid attention to the name of the restaurant or the address so we were standing at the corner looking all around. Thank god for cell phones - I called my friend and after a couple of tries got in touch and we made to the restaurant for an excellent meal. We got their meal for four so we got a wide sampling of dishes including sizzling rice soup which I had never had. The shrimp dish was wonderful.
Oh yeah - the meetings went well!

I agree that both Boston and SF are great cities to visit - they are packed full of new things to experience. Of course, you're going to experience a lot of new things in December!

Rita, I am surprised you've not been to SF. It's a wonderful place to visit, and lots of shopping . . .
Glad you had a good time, Mom, in spite of all those meetings . The Chinese meal sounds wonderful.

I have never been to SF but is one of the two cities in America I would like to see. The other is Boston. I have read books and seen movies where the Top of the Mark is part of the scenery.
