After a couple of days of what looked like it would be spring, we had freezing temperatures a week ago and the possibility of snow. Now this week is really spring! Our good friends, Caren and John, are here and we've had very pleasant meals on the deck in the evening. The swallows are back - hopefully they won't build a nest under the deck this year and have it washed away when it rains. The tulips are sad, sad, sad - something, probably deer, has chomped them right down to the ground. We've got the iris and peonies to look forward to.

I can sympathize on the whole lack of Spring thing. It's so FRUSTRATING!!! I feel like I am 4 years old and waiting for Santa.

I think that you should be able to get some tasty venison out of those lost tulips.

Just think how happy you have made the deer! There is a redeeming side to everything. Did Lyric Opera sent you the information, yet?

Ohhh...That's too bad about your tulips, and those are my favorite type of flowers. Hopefully, this fall I will plant some in our flower bed in the front yard. Luckily for us we don't have to contend with deer.
